Hyungseok “Harold” Ko specializes in IP portfolio management including patent portfolio development and IP monetization through patent licensing and negotiation. Prior to joining Innovation Counsel, he was in-house counsel for almost twenty years at several IT companies in Korea, e.g., Samsung Electronics and NAVER, and patent licensing company in the U.S., e.g., SIPCO LLC. During his career in patents, Mr. Ko gained expertise in the field of display technologies, software, business methods in online transactions, online advertisement, location-based service, Internet of Things (IoT) and video codec.
Building on his extensive in-house experience, Mr. Ko enjoys helping clients build strong patent portfolios by not only considering the language and breadth of each patent but also evaluating each patent from an infringement standpoint.
