Gideon Gimlan is an attorney with over 25 years of experience assisting clients in patent prosecution, litigation support, license negotiation, and strategic counseling. His technology experience includes business method patents, software patents, semiconductor fabrication process, digital and analog hardware, flat panel displays (LCDs and others) and interfaces, data compression algorithms, optics, packet based networks, medical devices, medical office automation, fingerprint readers, sensors and calibration, intelligent power supplies, noncontact measurement equipment, precision machinings, GPS systems, lithium-ion batteries, nuclear power plant design, automated refuse collection, mixed analog-digital integrated circuitry, ASIC and FPGA/PLD designs.
Prior to joining Innovation Counsel LLP, Mr. Gimlan served as Of Counsel at the San Jose office of Haynes and Boone, LLP (which was previously MacPherson, Kwok, Chen & Heid, LLP). Prior to joining MacPherson-Kwok, Mr. Gimlan was a partner with Fliesler Dubb Meyer & Lovejoy of San Francisco.
Before attending Law school, Mr. Gimlan was an electrical engineer working in various fields including aerospace, military defense contracting, mainframe terminal emulation and servo controlled laser machinery. His work included programming at the microcode and assembly language levels on microprocessors in the 4 to 16 bit range and designing interface circuits between microcomputers and external machinery.
